Smart Splurge
The historic St. Regis Hotel, one of Vancouver’s oldest properties (it dates from 1913), recently underwent a complete makeover to the tune of $11 million. The result of the renovations: a chic, business-savvy downtown hotel with 65 rooms and suites that showcase contemporary furnishings, neutral… more tones, and ultramodern conveniences like flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi. The hotel makes an excellent base from which to discover Vancouver (and ski at the Whistler Blackcomb resort, a 2-hour drive away) before the crowds descend in 2010 for the next Winter Olympic Games.
Although the room was small (euro style) the service and staff were excellent and very helpful! The rooms were very clean and quaint.

We arrived early in the day, well before check-in time of 2 pm. The staff immediately offered to store our luggage and said the rooms
