The upside is that the sun always shines. Hurricane season is supposed to end on November 30, though December storms have been known to occur. Book at least 2-3 months in advance.

Travelers on a shoestring budget appreciate the discounted hotel rates. Colorful local festivals also happen during this time. On the downside, service in major hotels can be reduced, some hotels use this time for renovations, and rainy weather is more frequent.

Travelers benefit from reduced rates on air and hotel packages (except during the Easter holidays), less crowded beaches, and cheaper green fees. Weather can be rainy, with hurricane season starting in June and continuing through the end of November.
