Taos Getting There

Airport
Albuquerque (ABQ) is the nearest major airport, situated an hour southwest of Santa Fe – and 2.5 hours (135 miles) southwest of Taos. Most people then rent a car and drive to Taos, although bus shuttle service is additionally available via Twin Hearts Express. Santa Fe Airport (SAF) has limited commercial airline service, as well, on American Eagle. Although Taos does have a small regional airport, it is currently open only to private or charter flights.

Most major U.S. carriers (including United, Continental, American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, and US Airways) plus many international carriers fly into ABQ.

2.5 hours from Chicago to Albuquerque; about 1 hour from Denver; 1.5 hours from Dallas; 1 hour from Phoenix; 2 hours from Los Angeles; 6 to 7 hours from New York.
